Career readiness doesn’t happen in a classroom alone.
At Wilson Talent Center (WTC), some of the most valuable learning happens when students step into real workplaces, ask questions, try new skills, and imagine themselves in future careers.
As another school year comes to a close, Wilson Talent Center is taking time to recognize the many local businesses, organizations, and industry partners who opened their doors to students through work-based learning experiences.
Whether through job shadows, workplace tours, internships, apprenticeships, mentorship opportunities, or hands-on career experiences, these partnerships help students build confidence, develop professional skills, and better understand what life beyond high school can look like.
WTC students explore career pathways across healthcare, education, skilled trades, public safety, technology, business, and more — gaining valuable exposure to professional environments while connecting classroom learning to real-world application. Work-based learning experiences are a key part of Wilson Talent Center’s mission to prepare students for future careers and continued education.
Behind every student gaining confidence during a job shadow, every internship that sparks a new goal, and every workplace tour that opens a student’s eyes to future possibilities is a community partner willing to invest their time and expertise.
This year, that support came from businesses and organizations across Mid-Michigan, including healthcare providers, manufacturers, auto dealerships, government offices, engineering firms, landscaping companies, nonprofits, and local agencies — all helping students take meaningful steps toward future careers.

Their impact reaches far beyond one school year.
Because when schools and communities work together, students don’t just learn about careers.
They begin to see themselves in them.
Wilson Talent Center extends sincere gratitude to every business and partner who helped make work-based learning possible this year.
