The Beekman Center Choir recently took the stage with a performance that was anything but ordinary.

Set to “Golden” from K-Pop Demon Hunters, the performance blended music, movement, and expression—creating an experience that went beyond a traditional choir concert. It was energetic. It was engaging. And most importantly, it was student-centered.

At Beekman Center, performances like this aren’t just about showcasing talent. They’re about creating space for students to explore creativity in ways that feel accessible and meaningful to them.

By combining voice and movement, students are able to connect more deeply with the music—and with each other. These experiences help build confidence, encourage self-expression, and open new pathways for learning that extend far beyond the stage.

Because for many students, moments like this aren’t just performances.

They’re breakthroughs.

They’re opportunities to be seen, to take risks, and to discover what they’re capable of in an environment designed to support and celebrate them.

And sometimes, all it takes is one song…
to help a student find their voice.
