Summer break may be a pause from the classroom.
But at Wilson Talent Center, learning is still in full swing.
This week, Wilson Talent Center kicked off its summer camp season, welcoming younger students into hands-on learning experiences designed to introduce them to exciting career pathways while building confidence, curiosity, and new skills.
And judging by the smiles, questions, and activities happening across campus, camp is already off to a strong start.
In the Sports Medicine Training Camp, campers explored what it takes to support athletes and active individuals through movement, injury prevention, and rehabilitation. Students practiced techniques like stretching, mobility, taping, and hands-on care while learning more about the science behind sports medicine and athletic training.
But one of the most meaningful parts of the experience came from the mentors helping lead the way.
Current Wilson Talent Center students, recognizable in blue camp shirts, returned to support younger campers—sharing knowledge, answering questions, and helping students imagine what future pathways in health sciences and sports medicine might look like.
Across campus, students participating in the Care & Confidence Camp explored another hands-on field focused on wellness and self-expression.
Campers learned about hair and nail care, practicing skills such as polishing nails, shampooing, conditioning, and blow-drying hair while exploring the kinds of techniques professionals use in cosmetology and personal care careers.
For many students, the camps offer more than just an activity for summer break.
They provide a chance to try something new, build confidence, and picture themselves in future careers they may never have considered before.
And for the Wilson Talent Center students helping guide the experience, it is also an opportunity to step into leadership roles and share their passion with younger learners.
Because sometimes, discovering what you want to be starts with simply getting the chance to try.
