Collaboration is one of the most powerful tools we have to support students.

On February 23, Ingham ISD hosted the first countywide meeting for School Social Workers across Ingham County — officially launching a new initiative focused on connection, consistency, and collective impact.

The gathering brought together professionals from across the service area to share expertise, discuss challenges, and align practices that strengthen student support systems. By creating a dedicated space for ongoing collaboration, the network aims to build greater consistency in how services are delivered across districts.

School Social Workers play a critical role in supporting students’ social, emotional, and behavioral well-being. They partner with families, educators, and community agencies to remove barriers to learning and ensure students have access to the resources they need to thrive.

When professionals connect across districts, they amplify their impact. Shared strategies lead to stronger systems. Consistent practices lead to clearer support for students and families.

This new countywide network represents an investment not just in professional collaboration, but in the well-being of students throughout Ingham County.

Because when the adults supporting students are connected and aligned, students feel it.
