Spartan Project SEARCH interns, a group of young adults with disabilities, are diving into their immersive work-based learning experience at Michigan State University. The program, in partnership with Ingham ISD, provides interns with practical skills to prepare for the workforce.

Interns began their journey with an MSU campus tour, exploring iconic sites like Spartan Stadium and the Sparty statue while familiarizing themselves with their new learning environment. They also received their official ID badges, an exciting step toward independence.

As part of their on-the-job training, interns have taken on real-world tasks at various MSU locations, including Sparty’s convenience store, where they assist with stocking and inventory management. These experiences help build essential workplace skills, confidence, and independence.

The Spartan Project SEARCH program continues to be a model of success in creating career opportunities for young adults.
