The green wasn't the only place heating up at this year’s Joe Dimmick Memorial Golf Outing. Second-year students from Wilson Talent Center’s Business & Risk Management program joined insurance industry leaders for a day of networking, fundraising, and hands-on learning at Centennial Acres.

Named after the late Joe Dimmick—a respected professional in the insurance field whose legacy continues through student opportunity—this annual event gave learners the chance to step into the spotlight. As part of the experience, students managed a game that required quick thinking, strong communication, and interpersonal savvy. The result? They raised over $700 in scholarship funds—money that feeds directly back into their own program.

More importantly, students left the event with connections, confidence, and a deeper understanding of the world they’re preparing to enter.

Special thanks to Brian Dimmick of Michigan Insurance and Mike Maurer of Accident Fund for their continued partnership and support in creating real-world learning moments like this.
