Since 2003, Karen Keel of North Star School has dedicated herself to teaching students the importance of honoring veterans. Through personalized projects like creating customized American flags bearing local veterans' names, Keel connects students with community history and service. Her efforts have expanded beyond her classroom, inspiring the entire Ingham County ISD to participate. These initiatives not only educate students about sacrifice and service but also strengthen community bonds and enhance student confidence through meaningful interactions.
