The latest Secondary Math Network meeting brought together 6th–12th grade math teachers from across the region to explore ways to connect, collaborate, and support student success.
Led by Ingham ISD and featuring guest speaker Kevin Tobe, a Haslett High School math teacher known on Instagram as The Reel Grapher (@reelgraphs), the event focused on relevant and forward-thinking approaches to math instruction. Educators explored student engagement techniques, shared insights around using AI in the classroom, and discussed the power of Building Thinking Classrooms to promote deep understanding and collaboration.
Tobe’s presentation emphasized the importance of culturally responsive teaching, real-world application, and creative use of social media to connect with today’s learners.
Teachers left the session energized and equipped with new strategies to help students feel confident—and even excited—about math.
