Behind every school calendar, enrollment count and attendance report is a team working hard to ensure students and districts are supported accurately and efficiently.
Recently, members of Ingham Intermediate School District’s Pupil Accounting team attended the Michigan Pupil Accounting & Attendance Association (MPAAA) Spring 2026 Conference, joining education professionals from across the state to collaborate, learn and share best practices that support Michigan schools. The annual conference brings together experts in pupil accounting, attendance, state reporting and educational data systems to strengthen the work happening behind the scenes in districts every day.
Held at Grand Traverse Resort, the conference included professional learning sessions, networking opportunities and conversations centered on evolving educational requirements, school funding, student membership reporting and compliance practices. Conference sessions are designed for both newer and experienced professionals working in pupil accounting and educational accountability.
For teams like Ingham ISD’s Pupil Accounting staff, opportunities like this matter. Professional learning helps staff stay informed on changing policies, reporting expectations and best practices that directly impact districts, students and families across the region. MPAAA’s mission focuses on leadership, support and training related to student data management and educational accountability throughout Michigan.
While much of this work happens quietly behind the scenes, its impact is far-reaching. Accurate attendance and reporting systems help schools receive proper funding, maintain compliance and ensure students receive the support and services they need.
