On March 26, 2025, Ingham ISD’s Director of Transition & Itinerant Services, Mike McDonald, and Transition Consultant, Amber Dale, appeared on FOX 47’s Morning Blend to discuss the district’s comprehensive Transition Programs. Designed for students aged 18–26 with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), these initiatives focus on developing independence through real-world experiences.

The programs emphasize four key areas: employment, community participation, continued education, and independent living. Students engage in job coaching, community-based instruction, and daily skill-building activities, preparing them for successful adult lives.

By collaborating with local businesses and organizations, Ingham ISD ensures that students receive practical experiences that align with their individual goals and aspirations. This approach not only benefits the students but also enriches the community by fostering inclusive workplaces and neighborhoods.
