This spring, two outstanding students from the Wilson Talent Center were recognized for their achievements—and their futures are looking bright.

Matthias Overely, a Waverly High School senior, was awarded the prestigious $10,000 INVEST Scholarship, a national recognition given to high school students pursuing insurance-related education or careers. INVEST (Insurance Education for Future Leaders) supports students in exploring professional pathways in the insurance and risk management industries. Matthias has been an active participant in the INVEST program, and this scholarship marks a major step forward in his journey.

Meanwhile, Tessa Himebaugh, a student from Mason High School, earned first place in the Ingham County Sheriff's Office Art Competition. Her winning piece—a powerful illustration of a female officer engaging with local youth—earned her a $100 gift card and a place of honor: her artwork will be displayed at the Sheriff's Office.

These recognitions showcase the diversity of talent across CTE programs—where business savvy, artistic expression, and leadership potential are nurtured and celebrated.

Congratulations to Matthias and Tessa! The entire WTC community is proud of your accomplishments.
