The future of education is in good hands, and the students in Wilson Talent Center’s Educational Careers program are already leading the way.

These aspiring educators attended the LIFT (Leaders Influencing Future Teachers) Conference at Saginaw Valley State University, an annual event designed to introduce high school students to the world of teaching. Throughout the day, they participated in breakout sessions led by SVSU students and faculty, explored key parts of campus—including housing and academic buildings—and took part in a hands-on scavenger hunt across the SVSU Marketplace.

Alongside plenty of laughs and selfies, students left with meaningful takeaways about what it takes to lead a classroom—and how today’s educators are shaping tomorrow’s world.

Whether presenting ideas, asking questions, or simply connecting with peers, the group represented Ingham County and the WTC community with enthusiasm and heart. With experiences like these, they’re already one step closer to becoming the difference-makers our schools need.
