Wilson Talent Center’s Educational Careers students recently explored a brand-new unit on Child Development—and they didn’t just learn about it. They lived it.
Through six hands-on stations, students examined each major stage of child growth, from infancy to adolescence. The activities offered a deeper understanding of physical, cognitive, and social-emotional development—three foundational pillars in understanding how children learn and behave at different ages.
Each station was designed to simulate real classroom experiences, giving students the opportunity to apply what they’ve learned to what they may one day see in their future classrooms. From fine-motor skill activities to sensory exploration and problem-solving games, the interactive setup helped students build the confidence and curiosity needed to support the next generation of learners.
This unit not only enriched students' understanding of developmentally appropriate practices—it strengthened their sense of purpose and possibility as future educators.
