When Grace Ames graduated from the Wilson Talent Center Cosmetology Program in 2022, she left with more than a license—she left with a launchpad.

Now a professional stylist at Mood Salon in Leslie, Michigan, Grace returned to the student salon this month to lead a hands-on workshop on vivid color application. She shared real-world experiences, offered expert tips, and took time to connect with current students who are just beginning their journeys into the beauty industry.

Students practiced application techniques, asked questions about career paths, and got an authentic look at what it's like to work in a professional salon environment. Just as important, they got to see someone who stood in their shoes not long ago—proof that their own success is within reach.

These alumni visits build more than skills. They build confidence. They create connection and community. They remind students that there’s a place for them in the professional world—and that the training they’re getting today is setting them up for success tomorrow.
