Recently, BioScience students from Wilson Talent Center toured the MSU Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory, where they explored the inner workings of microbiology, DNA analysis, and nutrition and toxicology labs.
During the visit, students observed professional lab technicians in action, learning how samples are processed, analyzed, and interpreted. They saw advanced equipment, discussed safety protocols, and asked questions about career pathways in laboratory sciences.
For many students, the most powerful takeaway was connection. The techniques they practice in their own classroom—precision, documentation, data interpretation, and lab safety—mirror the expectations of professional laboratory environments.
Experiences like this reinforce the purpose behind their coursework. Students are not simply completing assignments—they are building the technical and analytical skills required for careers in veterinary diagnostics, research labs, healthcare, and beyond.

From color matching to placement and blending techniques, students gained real-world skills and industry insight directly from working professionals.
Ingham ISD’s Safety Team hosted over 80 district leaders, law enforcement officers, and school personnel for emergency standard response protocol training led by The “I Love U Guys” Foundation. The session focused on using consistent language and coordinated action to improve safety preparedness across schools.
