Business & Risk Management students at Wilson Talent Center had the opportunity to hear from former NFL player Todd J. Duckett, who shared his insights on leadership, resilience, and community service.

Duckett emphasized the importance of following one’s dreams and giving back, highlighting initiatives such as the Ronald McDonald House Charities fundraiser and efforts to provide Thanksgiving meals for families in need. Learning Government by Seeing It in Action Spartan Project SEARCH students visited the Michigan Capitol to explore careers, civic leadership, and the teamwork behind state government.

Government can feel distant when you only read about it in textbooks. But for students in Spartan Project SEARCH, a recent visit to the Michigan Capitol turned civic learning into a real-world experience. From meeting with State Senator Sarah Anthony to observing activity inside the Senate chamber, students gained a firsthand look at the many people and moving parts that help serve communities across Michigan.
