In October, Heartwood School brought science to life with its inaugural Science Fair, a celebration of curiosity, experimentation, and student-led discovery.

Aligned with the month’s curriculum theme of Scientific Inquiry, students were encouraged to ask questions, test ideas, and share findings through engaging, sensory-based activities. From color mixing to hypothesis testing, learners explored real-world concepts with enthusiasm and pride.

Families, staff, and community members came together to support and observe as students confidently presented their work—many for the first time. The result? A buzzing atmosphere of wonder, encouragement, and celebration.

“Seeing our students actively lead and explain their experiments was incredible,” said one staff member. “It wasn’t just about science—it was about voice, confidence, and connection.”

Events like this support Ingham ISD’s commitment to inclusive, student-centered learning. By building opportunities that highlight diverse strengths and learning styles, schools like Heartwood ensure every student can discover their potential—one experiment at a time.
