Eighty teams entered the challenge. Only three completed every task.

One of them came from Wilson Talent Center.

Students in Wilson Talent Center's Cybersecurity & Digital Forensics program recently earned statewide recognition during the 2026 Michigan High School Cyber Summit in Novi, demonstrating their technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities and determination.

A group of 20 Wilson Talent Center students attended the summit, gaining exposure to cybersecurity professionals, emerging challenges and real-world applications of the skills they're developing in the classroom.

Among the highlights was a keynote presentation from Rachel Wilson, Managing Director and Chief Data Officer at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management and a former senior executive with the National Security Agency.

Wilson shared insights into international cybersecurity threats, including the activities of hackers targeting financial institutions and critical infrastructure.

Students also had the opportunity to participate in the Michigan Cybersecurity High School Challenge, a Hack The Box Capture the Flag competition held during the week leading up to the summit.

The competition challenged students to apply cybersecurity knowledge and investigative techniques to complete a series of technical tasks.

Of the 80 teams registered to compete, only three successfully completed every challenge.

Wilson Talent Center's team, appropriately named "Qualified Quartet," was the first of those three teams to finish.

Team members Bradley P., Paskalis Z., Sam R. and Chase G. were recognized with medals during the summit. Classmate Ryan K. accepted Chase's award on his behalf.

The achievement reflects more than technical ability. Cybersecurity challenges require persistence, collaboration, critical thinking and the ability to approach unfamiliar problems with creativity and precision.

Those are the same skills professionals rely on to help protect organizations, information systems and essential infrastructure.

For Wilson Talent Center students, the summit offered an opportunity to connect their classroom experiences with a rapidly evolving career field while learning from professionals working at the forefront of cybersecurity.

And for the Qualified Quartet, it was an opportunity to prove that their developing skills can stand up to some of the toughest challenges in the competition.

Congratulations to all 20 students who represented Wilson Talent Center and to the award-winning team for an impressive accomplishment!
