Aspiring principals across Michigan have a unique opportunity to deepen their leadership skills and impact student outcomes through the Michigan Leadership Fellows program—now accepting applications for its third cohort.
This 18-month fellowship, led in partnership by the Michigan Association of Secondary School Principals (MASSP) and the Michigan College Access Network (MCAN), is designed to prepare K–12 educators for future roles in school leadership. The program is rooted in the 4 Dimensions of Leadership from the Center for Educational Leadership, with a focus on promoting equity and postsecondary success.
Open to assistant principals, associate principals, district or ISD staff, and school deans with at least three years of experience, the fellowship supports participants as they grow toward principalship within the next one to four years. Participants engage in:
Leadership coaching
School-based project implementation
Statewide collaboration
Targeted training in educational equity and access
The fellowship also includes a cohort of diverse leaders committed to transformative change. The newly announced 2025–26 cohort includes representatives from schools in Mason, Bay City, Dearborn, Sandusky, Ferndale, and more.
Interested candidates should apply by November 24, 2025.
