Sometimes the most valuable lessons don’t come from a textbook.
They come from real conversations.
Earlier this week, Wilson Talent Center students had the opportunity to participate in another Boss Mode Boot Camp—an interactive session designed to help them better understand what it takes to succeed beyond the classroom.
Led by comedian and speaker Chris Young, the session blended humor with honesty—creating a space where students could engage, reflect, and learn without pressure.
Together, they explored what it means to:
- Represent yourself in a professional setting
- Build and maintain meaningful connections
- Understand the impact of your online presence
- Think about what success—and job satisfaction—really look like
And maybe most importantly, they were reminded that how you show up matters.
Not just on paper.
Not just in interviews.
But in everyday interactions.
Experiences like Boss Mode Boot Camp give students something deeper than information—they give them perspective. A chance to see themselves in future roles. A chance to ask better questions. A chance to build confidence before it’s required.
Because career readiness isn’t just about skills.
It’s about presence.
Awareness.
And the ability to connect.
At Wilson Talent Center, those are lessons students aren’t just hearing—they’re practicing.
