Each November, the Beekman Center community selects a local charity to support—and this year, students and staff chose the Ronald McDonald House of Mid-Michigan. Their efforts aligned with the month’s Unique Learning System theme, Going to the Doctor.
Through a school-wide initiative, students collected hundreds of pop can tabs and raised $175 to support families receiving medical care at local hospitals. Representatives from Ronald McDonald House visited the school to accept the donation and share more about the impact of their services.
Opportunities like this give students meaningful exposure to community organizations and reinforce valuable life lessons about empathy, generosity, and connection. They also allow the broader community to witness the incredible heart, potential, and involvement of Beekman students in action.
During this season of giving, we’re proud to highlight the difference these students make—one pop tab or penny at a time.
