Good manners. Great conversations. Real-world skills.

Wilson Talent Center Business & Risk Management students recently traded their typical classroom setting for a dining experience focused on professional etiquette, communication and relationship-building.

During a meal etiquette lesson, students practiced navigating a professional dining environment while engaging in conversations with others around the table.

The experience offered an opportunity to develop skills that extend well beyond knowing which fork to use. From introducing themselves to keeping conversations going, students practiced the interpersonal skills that can make a difference in interviews, networking events and future workplaces.

Students also reflected on the value of meeting new people, learning from different perspectives and becoming more comfortable in unfamiliar professional situations.

By bringing these lessons to life, Wilson Talent Center helped students connect classroom learning with the everyday interactions they'll encounter throughout their careers.

Because career readiness isn't just about knowing how to do the job. It's also about knowing how to connect with the people around you.
