Waverly High School recently welcomed Rocco Rucinski, a local business leader, for an unforgettable “Principal for a Day” experience. This opportunity—made possible through the collaboration of Ingham ISD, Waverly Community Schools, and the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce—offered a firsthand look at the challenges and triumphs of running a school in today’s world.
From morning meetings to classroom visits, Rocco spent the day alongside Waverly High School Principal Terry Terranova, gaining insight into the daily demands of school leadership and the deep care behind every student interaction.
More than just shadowing a role, this initiative fosters real connection between educators and professionals across sectors. It’s a way to explore how schools and businesses can support each other in preparing students for life after graduation—whether that path includes college, career training, or direct-to-work opportunities.
By opening its doors to community leaders, Waverly is helping strengthen the bridge between education and workforce development—one partnership at a time.
Thank you to Waverly High School and the Ingham Impact network for making it happen.
